MOHELA Gives Back
A mission-driven organization with a commitment to making education accessible for Missouri students, MOHELA gives back to the student
community through its Foundation: The Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation.
MOHELA's Foundation provides grants, scholarships, and zero-interest loans to support local students, families, local institutions, high
schools, and nonprofit organizations in Missouri.
Over the last five years (2020-2024), the Foundation has:
MOHELA and the Foundation also contributed more than $6 million toward Missouri programs in 2024 alone to further support student
scholarships and grants, including Access Missouri, Missouri's A+ Program and Bright Flight.
The Foundation educates students and families in Missouri on the FAFSA process, college affordability, and financial aid. It also
collaborates with other college access organizations to provide Missouri high school counselors with the knowledge and resources needed
to guide students and families through the college financial aid process.
At the beginning of 2025, the Foundation began accepting and funding requests for its mission-driven mini-grant program. High school
counselors, institutions, and nonprofit organizations can apply for these grants to help connect Missouri students with career
opportunities through strategic partnerships. The goal is to strengthen career pathways by fostering connections with local businesses
and providing students with career counseling, exploration, internship placements, job shadowing, mentorship, and workforce development
opportunities.
